TJA represents the growing number of people talking about greater transparency, equality and fairness in national and global tax systems.

We believe the foundation of a modern society like Aotearoa New Zealand is a just taxation system, comprising both revenue gathering and expenditure.

This system should:

be based on fairness and equity;
protect, promote and uphold human rights;
facilitate social and economic well-being;
promote financial stability;
accomplish these goals in a way that is environmentally sustainable.

Founded in August 2018, we provide analysis, ideas and information to encourage informed discussion about how tax builds societies where all people flourish.
