Public Opinion and Tax Possibilities in New Zealand

Come and hear TJANZ Treasurer and ANU academic Terence Wood speak about his analysis of the results of the survey the Better Taxes for a Better Future campaign conducted in September last year.

Terence played a leading role in the design of the questions and has analysed the results in a report that will be released just prior to the presentation.

According to the findings there is a stronger appetite for tax reform than might have been anticipated in the context of an election campaign where tax cuts were a major issue.

Ella Grace Newton from ActionStation will also provide her reflections on what this might all mean for the public conversation around tax during the run up to the next election.

Where: Lecture Theatre 3, Rutherford House, Pipitea Campus, Victoria University of Wellington

When: 12.30pm Tuesday, 21 May
