The critical link between taxation and human rights underlies Amnesty International's focus on taxation systems. Globally the organisation is in the process of developing a new policy that can help answer key questions such as how states can maximise available resources for enhancing human rights and what types of taxation models are most rights-compliant. This talk will explore some of the high-level principles we’re thinking about as we develop policy in this area and consider what human rights-compliant tax systems look like.
