Tax Policy and Population Dynamics: The Unavoidable Connection

Speaker: Len Cook
21 March 2023, 12:30 to 1:30 PM
Rutherford House Room 105 (RH105) and Zoom
Pipitea Campus, Victoria University of Wellington

Population dynamics span age, ethnicity, gender, place and generation, and shape the economic potential and welfare of societal structures.   Population ageing affects Māori and non-Māori very differently. A population lens puts a spotlight on long-term workforce capability, and intergenerational tensions, along with the poorly recognised advances in the economic potential of Māori. It adds another distinct dimension to climate change effects and their remediation.
