This session focuses on tax transparency, an area where Aotearoa New Zealand lags behind many comparable countries. We'll discuss measures that could strengthen transparency both internationally and domestically.

Hear from Louise Delany and Bill Rosenberg, who helped develop the policy proposals, alongside commentator Julie Haggie from Transparency International. The session will be MC'd by tax and business advisor Terry Baucher.

Terry Baucher (MC)

Terry has worked in tax for over 40 years and has been the Managing Director of boutique tax consultancy Baucher Consulting since 2004. The firm provides tax advice on a range of issues including cross-border issues for individuals, trusts, SMEs and accounting and law firms. Terry is a regular commentator in the media and is the host of the podcast Te wiki o te tāke – The New Zealand Tax Podcast. 

Bill Rosenberg (Speaker)

TJA Policy Advisory Committee. One of New Zealand's most respected voices on tax fairness and economic policy.

Louise Delany (Speaker)

Louise is a long-term member of Tax Justice Aotearoa and has filled various positions on the TJA Committee. Louise's background is in public health and law. She worked for many years as a public servant, mostly in the Ministry of Health on law reform projects, and also taught at the University of Otago, Wellington campus. She is now retired. 

Julie Haggie (Commentator)

Julie is the Chief Executive Officer with Transparency International and has 20 years of experience in senior leadership roles in regulatory, professional and NGO organisations.   She is an accomplished leader, advocate, negotiator and communicator and is a strong advocate for civil society participation.
